Panama reinforces sanctions for failure to update immigration address

The National Immigration Service (SNM) announced that, as of 25 July 2025, it will strictly enforce the sanction established by Executive Decree No. 320 of 2008 against any foreign national who fails to keep his or her address updated in the Immigration Register.


Obligation: every foreign resident must notify the SNM of any change of domicile or variation in the information previously provided.


Sanctions

  • first omission → fine of B/. 100.00;

  • second omission → cancellation of migratory status;

  • third omission → initiation of deportation proceedings.


Immediate application: the controls began on 25 July.


Review your immigration records and, if necessary, submit the corresponding update to the SNM as soon as possible.
