Panama Tenders a New Mobile Operator Concession

Panama’s National Public Services Authority, ASEP, has launched Public Tender No. 01-2026-Telco for the granting of a 20-year concession to operate mobile telephony services in Panama, including the assignment of 5G mid-band spectrum in the 3.5 GHz frequency band.

The process includes a prequalification stage, with a deadline of August 11, 2026, during which interested companies must demonstrate compliance with legal, technical, financial and responsibility requirements in order to move forward to the next phases of the tender.

This call represents an important opportunity for the telecommunications sector, as it is aimed at expanding competition, attracting investment and promoting the development of new mobile services in the country.
